Our Sustainability Strategy: Approach and Roadmap

Today’s temporary architecture demands lasting environmental responsibility, which is why we consider sustainability an integral part of every brand presentation and experience. As a global company in the trade show and event industry, we are dedicated to better understanding, transparently managing, and continuously improving our environmental and social impact.

Our Focus: Professionalism and Solid Foundations

At ET GLOBAL, we take a pragmatic approach: while no industry can solve every challenge overnight, progress demands clear accountability, reliable data, and a commitment to ongoing improvement. Our sustainability strategy provides the framework to integrate eco-conscious principles into every decision, process, and project step by step.

We are already building a strong foundation of sustainable corporate governance and transparent data structures based on globally recognized ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) standards. By focusing on measurable progress and operational excellence, we deeply embed environmental responsibility into our daily routines, measures, and solutions. Our efforts center on the following core areas:

Environmental – Focus on Ecological Efficiency

We are actively working to incorporate environmental factors more systematically into our decision-making. Key measures include:
Our primary goal is to keep materials in use for as long as possible and to prevent waste wherever technically and economically feasible. At the same time, we are systematically expanding our COe data foundation to better understand and manage environmental impacts moving forward.

Social – Partnership and Social Responsibility

Collaboration with employees, clients, suppliers, and partners is a vital pillar of our sustainability strategy. We champion transparent, responsible procurement and the continuous refinement of supplier standards and risk management processes. At the same time, we aim to make sustainability practical and actionable for our clients by serving as a trusted partner for your brand strategy and offering a customer-centric portfolio of sustainable services.

Governance – Structures and Accountability

Sustainability can only be managed effectively when responsibilities are clearly defined. That is why we are continuously advancing our governance structures, internal policies, and data collection tools. Standards like ISO 20121 and external evaluations such as EcoVadis allow us to make our progress traceable and refine our processes, offering you full transparency into the sustainability status of your projects.

Proven Success: Real-World Case Studies

We substantiate our sustainability strategy through completed projects that achieve high circular reuse rates. The practical execution of our strategy is reflected in modular exhibition systems, component reuse, regional hub structures as well as optimized supply chain and data processes. The following projects showcase solutions we have developed alongside our clients at national and international trade fairs and events, offering valuable insights that drive the continuous evolution of our sustainable approach.

Vision 2029: Our Long-Term Commitment

Our vision encompasses the complete integration of responsible business practices across all company operations. We view ourselves as trailblazers for an industry where economic success and ecological regeneration go hand in hand. Here, sustainability is not an optional add-on, but the natural backbone of every global brand presence. We embed circular principles deep into our DNA and set new benchmarks for live marketing and communication. Our commitment is to make progress measurable and transparent while embedding eco-conscious criteria ever more deeply into our decision-making. Our core focus areas include expanding our data baseline, maximizing circular reuse, advancing ethical supply chains, and continuously enhancing our governance structures.

Our Growth Path

  • 1968: The first modular exhibition stand system

When the company was founded, we also launched our own specially developed modular exhibition stand system. Even back then, we laid the foundations for reusability and flexible application.
  • From 1988: Global expansion

We have established our current organisational structure through the opening of further branches in Europe, the USA, the Middle East and Asia. This global presence enables us to make our transport routes more climate-efficient.
  • 2023: ISO 14001 certification

With our ISO 14001 certification, we have aligned our environmental management system with an internationally recognised standard. It helps us to systematically integrate environmental considerations into our processes and to continuously improve them.
  • 2025: Establishment of governance structures

We have defined clear responsibilities and internal guidelines to enable us to manage sustainability in a structured manner and make decisions in a transparent way. In doing so, we are laying the organisational foundations on which all further steps will be built.
  • 2026: Sustainability strategy developed

Based on the ESG (Environmental, Social & Governance) framework, we have developed a strategy that firmly integrates environmental and social considerations into our operational processes. It provides us with a roadmap for gradually integrating sustainability more closely into our projects and decision-making.
  • 2026: ISO 20121 certification

By aligning ourselves with ISO 20121, we are following a recognised standard for sustainable event management. It helps us to systematically organise our processes and make our progress measurable.
  • 2026: EcoVadis participation

By taking part in the EcoVadis assessment, we have our sustainability performance evaluated externally and gain an objective basis for comparison. This enables us to identify our strengths and work specifically on areas for improvement.
  • By 2029: Further development of data collection

We are currently working on expanding our CO2e data sets, and these will be continuously developed over the coming years.
  • By 2029: Expansion of supplier standards

The ongoing development of our supplier standards and risk management processes is an ongoing initiative. We will be finalising the details of this step by step by 2029.
  • By 2029: Further development of reuse and circularity

Further embedding circular principles in our projects is an ongoing process. We will gradually expand our specific measures and targets up to 2029.
