A MULTISENSORY BRAND SPACE FOR THE FUTURE OF SUSTAINABLE PACKAGING SOLUTIONS
Client: Sappi | Event: Interpack 2026 | Location: Düsseldorf, Germany
The double-deck stand combined product presentation and experience design into a holistic visitor journey designed to engage all senses.
Project Overview
The architectural centerpiece of the stand was a large-scale floating installation made of paper-like suspended elements and objects extending throughout the entire space. This visual concept translated Sappi’s material expertise into a striking spatial language while creating a strong visual landmark within the exhibition hall.
The concept intentionally focused on multisensory marketing:
In addition to visual storytelling and product presentation, scent, sound and taste became integral parts of the visitor experience. The smell of freshly baked cinnamon rolls was subtly diffused throughout the stand, creating an emotional atmosphere with a strong memory effect. This was complemented by a barista experience and ice cream specials.
The furniture and material selection also reflected the core theme of the brand presence. Paper-inspired lighting elements, soft organic forms and custom-designed seating areas in the VIP lounge translated the Sappi brand world into a premium spatial experience. The double-deck structure integrated exclusive hospitality and meeting spaces on the upper floor, creating a calm lounge atmosphere above the dynamic exhibition environment. Sculptural lighting objects and restrained materiality reinforced the premium yet approachable character of the space.
Another interactive highlight were Polaroid-inspired installations featuring QR codes that connected visitors with additional brand and topic areas throughout the hall, intelligently linking physical and digital communication.
The result was a brand space that did not simply showcase innovation, but made it tangible, emotional and memorable.
