ET Global Exhibit Group receives German Design Award 2017

At this year’s German Design Award, the Expotechnik Group was honored with a special mention in the Retail Architecture category. We developed the award-winning design and exhibition concept for our long-standing customer SCHOTT AG. Under the motto “Experience and wonder”, the new “WORLD OF SCHOTT” showroom invites visitors to go on a journey of discovery through SCHOTT’s product and technology worlds.
We were responsible for planning and implementing the new design of the special glass and glass ceramic manufacturer’s permanent exhibition in the Erich-Schott Center in Mainz. Over an area of 1,600 square feet, customers and business partners can immerse themselves in the fascinating world of SCHOTT products. The exhibits show the variety offered by glass as a material and encourage visitors to discover and try them out.
In close collaboration with the company, our designers developed an independent modular styling and material selection. “We focused on using SCHOTT’s product materials to create a lasting brand experience,” explains Tillmann Beuscher, Creative Director of the ET Global Exhibit Group. “The styling is also derived from the irregular structure of glass atoms.”
Visitors are guided through the exhibition areas like light beams in an optical structure, making the new brand space an interactive world of experience for them. The arrangement of the walls, stands and seating elements allows exhibits to be viewed from unusual angles and makes them a special experience for visitors. Following the prestigious “if design award”, this is now the second award garnered by the “WORLD OF SCHOTT” showroom.

The German Design Award is awarded by the German Design Council for outstanding products, services and personalities on the international design scene. The award ceremony for the German Design Award 2017 took place on February 10, 2017 as part of Ambiente, the world’s most important consumer goods fair, in Frankfurt am Main. With over 1,200 attendees from politics, business, design and the press, the award ceremony is one of the most important design events of the year.
